Relaxed, natural portrait photography for individuals, creatives, and teams. Professional images that feel genuine, confident, and true to who you are.

My portrait work is all about creating space for people to show up as themselves. I’m drawn to the quiet, honest moments, the way someone softens when they feel comfortable, the spark that appears when they’re truly seen. Whether I’m photographing creatives, couples, or teams, I work gently and collaboratively, guiding just enough while leaving room for natural expression. My aim is to craft images that feel grounded, human, and full of story. Portraits that reflect not just how someone looks, but who they are.

social media platforms and publications

Aldates Global Education CEO, Claudia Bickford-Smith, needed some fresh portrait shots for social media platforms and an upcoming magazine article for Insights Success. We shot a mixture of images suitable for her professional LinkedIn profile as well as for use on other social media platforms and publications. Wider images were photographed too, leaving plenty of room for overlaid text, for use on magazine covers and single and double page spreads. Images convey both personality and a professional presence, while maintaining a relaxed friendly and fun atmosphere.

Bickford-Smith Family CEO, Rufus, provided light entertainment and creative direction. Both were a pleasure to work with. Many thanks.

Portraiture Photography FAQ

Portrait sessions are all about celebrating who you are, in a way that feels natural and true to you. To help you feel confident about the process, I’ve answered some of the most common questions below, from how sessions work to what you can expect afterwards. My aim is to make the experience relaxed, enjoyable, and tailored to your story.

I’m nervous in front of the camera, can you help?

Absolutely. My sessions are relaxed, friendly and guided at your pace.

What is your approach to portrait photography?

I focus on creating relaxed, authentic portraits that reflect your personality and story. My style is journalistic and respectful, capturing natural moments rather than stiff poses.

Do you offer studio and outdoor sessions?

Yes. I work both in natural settings and controlled studio environments, depending on your preference and the mood you’d like to achieve.

How long does a portrait session usually last?

Most sessions run at least 90 minutes, giving us plenty of time to get comfortable and capture a variety of looks.

Can I bring props or personal items to the shoot?

Absolutely. Personal items, outfits, props or even pets can add meaning and individuality to your portraits. I encourage anything that helps tell your story.

Do you help with posing and direction?

Yes. While I aim for natural, candid moments, I’ll gently guide you with prompts and positioning to ensure you feel confident and look your best.

How soon will I receive my portraits?

You’ll typically receive a curated online gallery within 2 to 3 days, depending on busy periods. I also provide sneak peeks shortly after the session so you can enjoy highlights right away.

Do you offer retouching or editing?

Yes. I provide light, natural retouching to enhance your portraits while keeping them true to you. I avoid heavy or unrealistic edits unless specifically requested.

Can I order prints or albums of my portraits?

Definitely. I believe in creating lasting, tactile keepsakes, so prints and albums are available as add ons to any session via my online print store.

How much does a family photo shoot cost?

Family sessions typically start from £250, depending on the length of the shoot, the number of people, and the type of location you’d like. Every session includes careful planning, relaxed on the day guidance, and a curated gallery of beautifully edited images.

If you’d like something more bespoke, such as extended family groups, multiple locations, or a documentary style session at home, I can put together a tailored quote that fits exactly what you need.
