Hunstanton Beach — often known as Sunny Hunny — is one of Norfolk’s most iconic seaside destinations. Whether you’re visiting for a relaxing day out, a family beach trip, or simply to enjoy the Norfolk coastline, Hunstanton has a charm that’s hard to beat.

One of the things that makes Hunstanton Beach truly unique is its west‑facing shoreline. It’s one of the only places on the east coast where you can watch the sunset over the sea, and it never disappoints. Even on cooler days, the sky fills with warm oranges and soft pinks, creating some of the best sunset photography opportunities in Norfolk.

The beach itself is a mix of golden sand and smooth pebbles, stretching beneath the famous striped cliffs of Hunstanton. These striking red and white cliffs are millions of years old and make a stunning backdrop for landscape photography, especially when the tide is out and the rock pools catch the light.

Hunstanton is always full of life. On any given day you’ll see dog walkers, families exploring the rock pools, paddleboarders drifting along the shoreline, and kite surfers catching the wind. The promenade adds to the atmosphere with cafés, ice‑cream huts, amusements, and the gentle buzz of people enjoying a classic Norfolk seaside town.

If you wander a little further, Old Hunstanton Beach offers a quieter, more natural stretch of coastline. With its dunes, wide‑open sands, and peaceful atmosphere, it’s perfect for long walks, relaxed days out, and anyone looking for a more tranquil spot on the North Norfolk coast.

Whether you’re visiting for photography, fresh air, or simply a change of scenery, Hunstanton Beach has a way of reminding you to slow down and take it all in. It’s a place where the light feels different, the horizon feels wider, and the simple things — like the sound of waves or the crunch of pebbles underfoot — feel grounding.
